Hilton head Island and the Marriott Barony Beach Club Resort are both amazing. The staff bends over backwards to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Everyone is so friendly to Bella and since she is feeling well again, she is totally enjoying the attention. I think the bed here is her favorite place, though.  As you can see, she rules our world.

This afternoon we went exploring the bodies of water in the resort. So many pools and spas to enjoy: the huge pool by the ocean, the indoor pool and spa (in case of rain) in the welcome building, the smaller outdoor pool by our building, and hot tubs all over!

Hanging out at the cool pool!

Bella is laying on a cooling mat, made to keep dogs cool on cement, her little  red portable water bowl next to her, and Musher’s Protective Wax on her paw pads (to protect them from hot cement). I also wiped her down with sunscreen wipes for dogs to prevent sun burning. So she is good to go! After awhile we moved on to the pool for a cool swim.

From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM we attended a real Low Country Boil at the Courtyard Pavilion on grounds. Live music, Sweet Tea (delicious), Lemonade, Shrimp, Sausage, Cole Slaw, Mac n’Cheese, Potatoes, Lemonade, Corn Bread (best ever), Hot Dogs, and Brownies. Great dinner – all you could eat for 3 hours!

Great time had by all!

Food line-Come and get it!

Bella was great during the whole dinner, She slept under the table the entire time. We were allowed to take food back to our room at the end of the program. I stopped for a minute to get the villa key out of Bella’s “lunch box”, and put the paper plate down on a cement seat nearby. I turned my back for a second, and suddenly Bella was eating one of the small pieces of corn that I was taking back to the room. She snatched it right off of the plate. You could see she totally enjoyed it! Everyone was laughing at the speed of the snatch! They were amazed that since she has been so well behaved the entire time, the move was totally unexpected by the staff. ***This is why Bella is not a therapy dog. If she has the chance (which she seldom does), she will enjoy peoples food in a split second, right off of their plate!

WELL, IT HS BEEN A VERY BUSY AND FUN FILLED DAY. BELLA IS SLEEPING N THE COUCH! AND IT’S TIME TO RELAX AND WATCH MICHAEL PHELPS MAKE HISTORY!

MORE TO COME TOMORROW! GOOD NIGHT FROM PARADISE!
